Punjab’s provincial government has rolled out the Electric Bike Scheme 2026, aiming to distribute 100,000 electric bikes to students across the province. Girls will receive their bikes completely free, while boys can get one through interest-free monthly installments.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the scheme at a ceremony in Arifwala, calling it one of the biggest student welfare programmes the province has launched. The goal is to make commuting easier and safer for students while pushing more people toward eco-friendly transport.
Who Qualifies
Applicants need to be at least 18 years old, though some categories allow up to 35. They must be enrolled as a regular student at an HEC-recognized college or university and hold a valid Punjab domicile.
A valid motorcycle license or learner’s permit is required, and applicants can’t already own a registered motor vehicle. Only one bike will be issued per family, even if multiple siblings apply.
How to Apply
The process runs entirely online through Punjab’s official government portal. Students register using their CNIC, student details, and contact information, then fill out the application form and upload the required documents.
Once submitted, applications go through verification followed by computerized balloting. Applicants can track their status online throughout the process.
