The University of Health Sciences (UHS) in Lahore has announced the commencement of its admission process for the MBBS and BDS programs for the 2023-24 academic year. The MBBS and BDS programs are offered in several public sector medical and dental institutions across Punjab. There are a total of 3,376 MBBS seats available in 16 government medical colleges and 240 BDS seats in three dental colleges within the province.
The admission policy for the 2023-24 session in Medical and Dental Colleges of Punjab has been released. According to this policy, the merit for admissions will be calculated based on the share of MD CAT marks (50%), FSC (40%), and Matric (10%). This year, UHS will also oversee admissions to private medical and dental colleges in addition to government institutions. This decision was made following approval from the supervisory cabinet of Punjab, and the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education issued a notification to this effect.
