HEC Launches CPEC Photography Competition

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has announced a nationwide photography competition, with the theme revolving around the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and their significant impact on the economy, infrastructure, and environment in Pakistan.

The competition was announced on October 7th, 2023, and is open to all, regardless of whether they are amateur or professional photographers. There is no age limit for participation, encouraging a wide range of perspectives.

Who Can Participate?

The competition aims to highlight the best CPEC projects across the country through the lens of the participants. Each photograph submitted should bear the photographer’s name and email address. Participants are required to submit their entries via email in JPG format, along with a scanned copy of their CNIC or passport and contact details. It is crucial to mention “My Photo” in the subject line of the email to ensure proper categorization of the entry.

Prize Money

The HEC has set aside a generous prize pool for this competition. A total of 10 prizes will be distributed among the winners. The first prize, amounting to Rs. 100,000, will be awarded to one individual. The second prize, comprising three cheques of Rs. 80,000 each, will be given to three participants. Lastly, six photographers will receive the third prize, each receiving a cheque of Rs. 50,000.

Deadlines

The deadline for submissions is October 9, 2023. This competition provides an excellent platform for photographers to showcase their talent while highlighting the transformative impact of CPEC projects on Pakistan’s landscape.
