The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) in Pakistan has released the date sheet for the 5th and 8th class examinations for the year 2024. The FDE, established in 1967 as an attached department of the Ministry of Education, is responsible for providing educational facilities at various levels in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). Following the devolution of the Ministry of Education, the FDE began operating as an attached department of the Capital Administration & Development Division (CA&DD) in April 2011. The status of CA&DD was later changed to the Ministry of Capital Administration & Development in May 2012.

According to the released date sheet, the first paper of General Science for the 5th class will be held on March 7, 2024, and the last paper will be conducted on March 25, 2024. The date sheet can be downloaded from the official website of the FDE, www.fde.gov.pk.
In addition to the 5th and 8th class examinations, the Punjab Education Department has announced that examinations for grades I to IV will commence from May 31. The new academic year in Punjab is set to begin on August 1, 2023. It’s also worth noting that students from first to fourth, sixth, and seventh classes in federal educational institutions will be promoted without examination.
This announcement is part of the government’s efforts to ensure a smooth and organized conduct of examinations across the country. Students are advised to check the official FDE website regularly for updates and to prepare accordingly for their upcoming exams.
