There will be huge changes in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as teams have decided to do away with the draft system and opt for auctions.
In the new system, auctions will be held for more competitive teams and enhanced earning prospects for players. This is important departure from the traditional draft model used in previous seasons.
The PSL also scrapped the mentor, brand ambassador and Right-to-Match (RTM), thus bringing about a easier tournament structure.
Each franchise can retain a maximum of four players, with not more than one in each category. The two new franchises will also have an opportunity to choose four players before the auction.
Each team can enter into an agreement with one foreign player prior to the draft – if such player was not part of edition 2025.
These changes are expected to make PSL 11 more competitive, transparent, and financially rewarding for players.
